The year ahead

Last year was an incredible experience all round for us and it was our biggest yet with the release of our first short film, Unspoken. This deals with the ever-present issue in society of Cyberbullying and the effect it has on young people. Check it out here.

In November, we brought our second production to stage; Life after Life which sold out the run of shows at The Hope Street Theatre. We also released the free download of the One-Sided Love Script Book, which was downloaded over 400 times! The year ahead looks even more promising with more original work from everyone here at Likeminded. Our main goal this year is to be better than we were last year.

So without further ado, here is what we have been working on behind the scenes for 2019. In no particular order:

Mindless

Our upcoming short film; Mindless which holds a very strong message that needs to be shown and heard, just like our last short film Unspoken. Click here for more about this powerful project.

Mr. Smith: The Haughty Effect.

This is an introduction to my controversial character I’ve created which has haunted me since I started writing 3 years ago. He’s featured in The man with no identity and One-Sided Love.

The Haughty Effect is a short film which is narrated in a subjective style from the point of view of Mr. Smith which will be release later this year. You will learn about real life characters; Ivan Boesky, Charles Ponzi, Bernie Madoff, Ray Kroc which helped mould this controversial character. You might find that you know someone that has the same characteristics as Mr.Smith which, I believe we all do.

Mr Smith: The haughty effect Synopsis-

Mr. Smith is known for his ruthless ways. Ruthless is the new nice and power is the new religion. It’s been a long time since he’s been at the top and had the hunger to do it all again. With the Smith scandal still haunting him, will the past come back to deliver the final blow and be the start of the downfall of Mr. Smith?

One-Sided Love

When I was working on Life after Life, I wrote two extra scenes for One-sided love and also introduced a new character to the project. One-Sided Love was originally going to be a radio drama, but with much thought and help from the feedback we had, a radio drama wouldn’t give it justice. We decided as a team we will produce it for stage and use some of the recordings we did for promotional purposes.

Don’t worry, the radio drama is still in the works and we are hoping to release it straight after the play. Be sure to keep your eyes peeled for audition announcements for this project if you’re interested.

We also have Ashley Ali working on his second play with myself which has not got a title yet but we are hoping to showcase it later this year.

As you can see, it’s going to be another exciting and busy year for us which we like. Original, new writing and new productions to screen/stage from all of us at Likeminded.
