We have our Scripts!

After 3 weeks going over the scripts that have been submitted for Theatre Addict, we have to say its been a pleasure firstly, to see so many creatives out there sending new writing to read which shows evidence again of the local talent bubbling up throughout our city and secondly, we now have a chance to collaborate with likeminded, upcoming creatives to make this a great night of theatre. We are very excited to be putting on this event of new writing and we are excited to introduce these creatives to you all very soon.

April 18th at The Hope Street Theatre will mark our first Theatre Addict event and we are hoping that this will inspire dominant figures within the community to support nights like these to see grass root creatives showcasing new material. As I’ve said before, these particular nights should not be ignored and why should they? These events should be celebrated, encouraged.  The only way that our theatre community will grow is from support and encouraging creatives to have a go, that’s how Likeminded started by simply having a go.

Myself and the team has been busy picking the five scripts for the night and we are happy to say we have finally chosen the scripts. This hasn’t been an easy process because most of the scripts that have been submitted have been solid and its caused arguments between ourselves. But finally we came to a common ground and feel the five scripts we have picked out of the 48 scripts will compliment each other very well and will create a night like no other. We are doing it slightly different, we wont reveal too much but the team has been throwing ideas about how we should brand the show and how to structure the night and I’m very happy in the direction we are going with it. So who’s ready to meet our first Addict?...
